Los Angeles Modern Auctions posted strong results with the auction on May 19, 2019 split almost evenly between fine art and design. Top lots included works by Keith Haring, De Wain Valentine, Yaacov Agam, Joe Goode, as well as impressive results designs by Hans Wegner and Poul Kjaerholm.
Los Angeles Modern Auctions (LAMA) held another record-breaking auction of fine art on February 17, 2019. Important works of art by artists surpassed expectations and set new records, including a painting by Kenneth Noland soaring to $550,000, a sculpture by Fred Eversley realizing $281,250, and Ed Ruscha print bringing $168,750. The auction was among the company’s best results to date with the lots selling 166% over the expected auction values with average lot prices hitting $22,670 per item.
LAMA sets new world auction records on September 30, 2018 Modern Art and Design auction. Along with several new world auction records for Mary Corse, Ed Ruscha, Carole Feuerman, and Andy Warhol, LAMA achieved the highest sale total in company history with $5.17 million in sales achieving 125% over the low estimate.
Los Angeles Modern Auctions announced this week the list of highlights that will headline their fall auction held on September 30, 2018. Each of the top featured works will be fresh to the market and have been sourced from various local estates and important collections. The auction, LAMA’s largest of the 2018 year, will feature over 380 works with a pre-auction estimate of $3.5-$5.1 million.
